We are part of the national Shopmobility scheme renting out scooters and wheelchairs to use around Plymouth City Centre. The service is available to residents and visitors to Plymouth regardless of whether their disability is permanent or temporary.
The first time you use us you will need to book an appointment for a familiarisation session. This will enable us to make sure that you have the right equipment and that we are happy that you know how to use it. You will also be given instructions about the areas in Plymouth City Centre where it is safe to go. Please make sure you bring ID the first time you come.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that you book your training. If you arrive without an appointment and there is no-one on site to train you, then we may not be able to let you go out on a scooter.
We have manual wheelchairs and scooters for short term hire which is ideal for use on holiday or when relatives are visiting . You will not require training for short term hire but we will of course show you how to disassemble and assemble the scooter for your car boot (not suitable for small cars).

Please make sure that all equipment is returned 15 minutes before closing time to allow equipment to be checked.
Access Plymouth also has a satellite scheme in Drake Circus where equipment is available for hire within the shopping mall only. To use powered equipment you must produce a valid Shopmobility membership card as well as a form of ID. Please note that full parking charges apply at Drake Circus.
You will need to register with us and sign up to the terms and conditions. There is a twelve month membership fee of £15. All equipment hires are £7 per day for annual members.
We have a private car park for customers charged at £3 per day.
Visitors to Plymouth can sign up to a short term membership for three weeks costing £6. Short term hire prices are as follows, manual wheelchairs are £6 per day, £18 for a weekend or £40 per week and scooters are £17 per day, £50 for a weekend or £80 per week. We require a £10 and £50 refundable deposit for each hire respectively.
